A school visit will answer questions such as:

  • How does glass change from one material state to another?
  • What temperature do the glass furnaces operate at? How does that compare to your home oven?
  • How important is team work in the hotshop?
Hands-on Glass
  • Cost $30 per student
  • Ages 8–18
  • 90 minutes

Cut, shape and fuse glass to make your very own glass tile. Enliven your senses with a hands-on tour of the Glassworks. Turn up the heat, observe molten glass and artists at work in the hotshop.

Elements of Glass
  • $30 per student
  • Ages 8–18
  • 45 minutes

Drill down and investigate the science of glass. Observe molten glass and its transformative properties through a live hotshop demonstration. Learn about the impact of temperature on the molecular structure of glass.

Glass Fusion
  • $40 per student
  • Ages 8–18
  • 90 minutes

Students can work together creatively by making a large glass tile that demonstrates planning and design solutions. Explore the Glassworks and view the current exhibition through an artist-led tour.
